Susan is active on various boards and works with numerous committees. She has been involved in social causes for several years and is extremely devoted to giving back to the community. In 2011, Susan began working with the charitable organization “Young Ones”, assisting youth struggling with mental health issues to achieve better care and services. Susan resides in Toronto with her husband, along with her therapy dog Buster. She enjoys practicing Yoga and Spins regularly.
About Sustainable Recovery
Sustainable Recovery is a private counselling practice founded by Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counsellor (ICADC) and Co-occuring Disorders Professional (ICCDP), Susan Raphael. Susan has been a member in good standing with the Canadian Addictions Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF) since 2005, with a goal of providing effective counselling solutions to youth, individuals and families recovering from addiction and mental health disorders through sensitive, supportive and experiential care. Susan is a Canadian Certified Addiction Counsellor. Susan has a degree from York University, a graduate education in Applied Psychology from the University of Toronto and has specialized in Addiction and Recovery since 1999. Susan is also licensed to administer and debrief the Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory (SASSI) and other psychological measures. Her proven methods, qualifications and experience make her extremely well known in the addiction and recovery fields of Toronto and beyond. Susan is passionate and extremely driven to guide and maximize the potential in others as they recover from mental health disorders. Her praised approach and dedication to her clients enable her to provide effective and caring interventions to individuals and families in crisis.
